Glowy Stuff - Etsy store
To help fund my engineering studies at university, I launched and operated "Glowy Stuff," an Etsy store specializing in unique 3D printed items. This hands-on entrepreneurial project involved the full lifecycle: designing products, operating and maintaining 3D printers, creating online listings, managing customer interactions, and handling order fulfillment and shipping. It was a valuable real-world experience in small business management, e-commerce, and applying additive manufacturing skills practically.

Wilderness exploration
Based in Kelowna, the vast wilderness of British Columbia calls – truly one of the last frontiers. Exploring here often involves navigating remote forest service roads in my Kleemann ML50K6 (the rare 1-of-27 build I restored) to access trailheads or secluded spots before venturing further on foot. It demands careful planning and adaptability, not just for the journey but for ensuring this unique vehicle is prepared for the terrain. Things don't always go perfectly; challenging conditions are part of the adventure. But overcoming obstacles, relying on thorough preparation for both myself and the machine, makes reaching those breathtaking, unforgettable views even more satisfying. It underscores the value of resilience and capable engineering – in people and the vehicles they trust.

Peak bagging
Summiting peaks in the rugged landscapes around British Columbia is a core passion. For me, peak bagging isn't just about ticking off names on a list; it's about the challenge, the planning, and pushing my own boundaries. It’s about venturing into remote areas and reaching summits that feel untouched, places where you can stand and believe perhaps few, if any, have stood before. While true first ascents are rare, the feeling of navigating difficult terrain to reach a hard-won, solitary summit offers a unique sense of accomplishment and perspective. It's a powerful way to test myself against the mountains.
