Recycling of HDPE for ballistic applications

Currently investigating methods to transform post-consumer High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) waste into effective ballistic protection systems, such as panels and body armor inserts. This research addresses two critical needs: the high cost associated with conventional ballistic materials and the urgent need for sustainable plastic waste solutions. By developing a reliable recycling pathway for this application, the project aims to provide a significantly cheaper means of protecting personnel while contributing to environmental mitigation. This work is presently in the research and development phase.
